The short version. Use BakeDaddy to bake. Recipes are worked out carefully, but you’re the baker: check allergens and use your judgement at the oven. Pro renews monthly through Apple until you cancel. Your rights as a consumer under Norwegian law always apply.

About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Herje Banan AS (org. no. TODO), the company behind BakeDaddy (“we”, “us”). They apply when you use the BakeDaddy app and this website. By using the app you accept them. If you don’t, please don’t use BakeDaddy.

How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.

The service

BakeDaddy works out bread recipes for your kitchen: your flour, your equipment, your kitchen’s temperature and the time you have. Making recipes is free and works without an account and without a network connection.

BakeDaddy Pro adds paid features, including Ask BakeDaddy (changing a recipe by chatting), your own flour shelf and blends. What Pro includes is described in the app at the time of purchase.

Your account

An account is optional. It keeps your recipes and kitchen in step between phones. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in method secure. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account.

BakeDaddy Pro and payment

  • Pro is a subscription that renews automatically every month until you cancel it. The price is shown in the app before you buy.
  • New subscribers may be offered a free trial. If you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and the first month is charged.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase, and again at each renewal unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Cancel in the app under Settings → Manage subscription, or in your iPhone’s Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription.
  • Purchases are made through Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under its rules (reportaproblem.apple.com).
  • If we change the price, you will be told in advance and can cancel before the new price applies.

Recipes, AI and your safety

BakeDaddy’s recipes are calculated from established baking rules and the information you give it. Flour, ovens and kitchens vary, so a recipe is guidance, not a guarantee of a particular result.

Ask BakeDaddy and flour lookup use AI. Answers are generated by a language model and can be wrong. Every suggested change is shown to you before it is applied - read it before you use it. Ask BakeDaddy is for baking; it is not for other purposes.

You are responsible in your own kitchen. That includes:

  • checking that ingredients are suitable for you and the people you bake for, including allergies and intolerances (for example gluten, nuts, seeds and milk);
  • handling hot ovens, pots and steam safely;
  • not eating raw dough or raw flour.

BakeDaddy does not give medical or nutritional advice.

Acceptable use

You may not:

  • copy, modify, decompile or try to extract the source code of the app, except where the law allows it;
  • try to get around limits, Pro checks or security measures, or overload our servers;
  • access the service by automated means;
  • use BakeDaddy in a way that breaks the law or harms others.

Ask BakeDaddy and flour lookup have a daily limit per account so the service stays fast and fair for everyone.

Your content

Recipes, notes and other content you create in BakeDaddy are yours. You give us the right to store, process and copy them only as far as needed to provide the service to you - for example to sync your recipes between phones.

Our rights

The app, the BakeDaddy name and mascot, the recipes’ underlying rules, texts, graphics and code belong to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store’s usage rules.

Changes and availability

We keep improving BakeDaddy, so features may change, be added or be removed. We try to keep the service running at all times, but cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors. Recipe generation works offline and does not depend on our servers.

If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we tell you in the app before the change takes effect.

Liability

We are not liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by your ingredients, your equipment, or using a recipe or an AI suggestion without checking it - such as a failed bake. Our total liability is limited to what you have paid us for Pro in the last 12 months.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by agreement, or our liability for gross negligence or intent.

The app and Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.

  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Contact us instead - see the support page.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the app, if any. To the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • Apple is not responsible for any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection or privacy law.
  • If a third party claims that the app infringes its intellectual property rights, we - not Apple - are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting”, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using BakeDaddy and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; if so, we tell you why.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. If you have a complaint, contact us first - most things can be sorted out quickly. As a consumer you can also get help from the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet), and a dispute may be brought before the Consumer Disputes Commission (Forbrukerklageutvalget) or the courts where you live.
